2002—2016 ::
Pietrobot & Freakquency Modulator host one of Southern California’s leading experimental electronic music radio shows. Since 2002, Digital::Nimbus has broadcasted live on-the-air every Friday night at KUCI 88.9 FM (Irvine, CA. & streaming media) from 10pm-12am Pacific.
Digital::Nimbus features current and classic electronics, post-industrial, electro, IDM/ambient, dub/breaks and all the debris in between. Live in-studio performances, mixes and giveaways are frequently delivered just about each week as well as a plethora of new and upcoming independent electronic releases 2-hours a week, every week.
Jack Dangers (Meat Beat Manifesto) quote: “Well, I’m listening to the station and I’m still amazed at some of the new bendings and mixes you guys are putting out… nice work man… you 2 are true music lovers; if it wasn’t for people like you guys a lot of bands just would not exist!” (2009)
Described by Fateless Flows as “One of the most revealing programs on the air for modern, underground electronic music. One D::N episode is like a brief education on the whole current genre, and each show usually involves a live performance from one of these master programmers.” (2004)

In the beginning ::
Digital::Nimbus has broadcasted on KUCI since early 2002. Originally inspired by Audio::Nimbus (Pietrobot’s radio show broadcasting at CJAM 91.5 FM from 1998-2001) from the University of Windsor Campus, Ontario Canada), Pietrobot joined forces with the Digital Chemist late 2001 and eventually planted the seeds for what was to become Digital::Nimbus.
Special thanks to Meat Beat Manifesto (Jack Dangers) for subliminally connecting us in the mid-90s.
“In the beginning there was Jack, and Jack had a groove, and from this groove came the groove of all grooves.”
Digital::Nimbus would not be here today, without MBM.
Special thanks to Dennis Simms (Riders of the Plastic Groove, Friday’s 8-10pm) for being such a good friend and for engineering our live guest performances. Dennis’ extensive history in sound-engineering has been an incredible help for us and we thank him for his loyalty and dedication to the show.
Also, last but not least, thank you to DJ Rubrene (Telesthesia Sound System Circuitry, 2010-2014) for his musical inspiration and friendship during his tenure at KUCI. Rubrene’s enthusiast and passionate display of “Jamaican dub to present electronic bass-driven rhythms and melodically drenched frequencies” was very well-received and is certainly missed on the airwaves.
